New MacBooks on the horizon?

Posted: September 19th, 2006

Rumors are circling around that Apple is planning to upgrade the MacBook lineup sometime within the next two or three months.

The iMacs have recently been upgraded to feature the new Core 2 Duo processors, replacing the Core Duo lineup. Analysts are expecting the same to take place with the MacBooks.

The updates will come just in time for the approaching holiday season. It's likely that Apple is delaying the update in order to stock up enough units.

I don't have the numbers to back it up, but I'm almost certain that MacBook sales drop the minute these rumours come out. It's no surprise Apple is so secretive. What are the chances of someone ordering a MacBook if they know a new one is about to be released?
