Black MacBook is One Year Old

May 16th, 2006 was a momentous occasion. The shadows opened up, streaks of bright light broke through and Steve Jobs descended with the Black MacBook in his hands.

..okay so maybe that wasn't exactly what happened, but it's still pretty close. Okay so maybe it's not even remotely close, but it's still an important occasion. Exactly one year ago the Black MacBook was released along with its white cousin. The world was amazed by its impeccable design, modern architectures, and seemingly overpriced price tag. A few million MacBooks later we're now approaching the release of Mac OS Leopard, with even more upgrades to follow.

apple no longer sells the black macbooks, is that true?? looks like they replaced the white and black ones with an aluminum one with one low end white one. HOW could apple do that???? WHYYYYYY

Got my black Penryn refurbed almost a year ago now. Still running like a champ! I think this will be the longest lived laptop I've ever had.

Would anybody happen to know if any apple stores still have refurbished Black MacBooks? I have the new unibody white MacBook and yeah it's awesome but I haven't seen a Black MacBook for years, and it's sad because one Sunday I was like, alright, I'm gonna save and buy a Black MacBook... it looks so awesome... the next week they discontinued it!

If anybody knows where I can get a really cheap penryn white MacBook (cheapest price you know) I most likely would buy that and get a Colorware custom paint job on it.. I don't know about the touch pad but at least it'd be a black MacBook.

Ik too have a black macbook. But i'm sad, because i have to upgrade. As a video editor, photoshopper en web developer i lack performance and graphics with my Black Beauty.
So, im willing to sell it. it looks pretty decent. It needs to be taken apart for the dust between the touchpad en buttons, but im afraid im might bust it up... on the edges near my touchpad, its missing a bit (hard to explain, i can send pics).

Oh, and im from holland. So, i would either have to ship it for you or whatever...

I LOVE my black macbook! I bought it in mid 2008 and it still runs amazing! I wish that apple would bring it back, I don't want to upgrade and have to switch to silver :(

I was so excited when apple brought out the black iphone to match my black macbook I had to get one!
