MacBook with a Matte Screen

Don't like glossy screens? This mod is for you.

White and Black Macbooks

The Matte vs Glossy argument has existed for a long time amongst laptop owners.
Rarely though, do you come across someone who's willing to take it one step further.
The idea was simple - replace the existing glossy screen with a matte one. Before you start jumping up and down about the warrany - relax - because it was already voided. The owner purchased his MacBook with a broken screen, so replacing it necessary either way.
Needless to say, this wasn't very easy to do. The screen had to be an exact match in order to fit, and because of Apple's design, it wasn't very easy to disassemble.

The modder doesn't know the exact model of the screen he used, but he did point out that you'll need to completely remove the screen from the notebook before you can replace it.

I\'ve had a macbook for 6 months and if your a generally clean person, the machine won\'t get dirty.

my macbook black 2.2 gets pretty dirty after others use it. but as for me its usually clean. i wash hands before touching it. and usually dry them after ahwile. i use it about an hour oh so per day. i dont eat at all near it. its been real so far, but despite my mania it still gets dusty.

so other than the glare and the shinyness of the glossy screen
is the matte screen better in other ways than just those two examples

Too bad there's no choice between glossy or matte otherwise I would have gotten my MacBook with a matte screen instead.
